I think most who know would agree in saying Gordon Ramsay, out of all chefs in the media/public eye, is the most passionate about well-cooked authentic food.

You can tell as the article mentions, just watching any of his tv shows demonstrates what a stickler for perfection he is, so there is no questioning his high standards - however like most chefs he's put in hard work and wants to enjoy the benefits of it, namely having an empire of eateries/merchandise in his name. Nothing wrong with that but others who took the same route have demonstrated that this compromise is all too often their downfall.

Having never been lucky enough to eat at any of his restaurants I cannot give an opinion - but that's not to say I wouldn't go in expecting his stamp of quality and perfection on everything that came my way!

Maybe he should stay focused on building upon what exists, instead of further expanding?

What a great opening piece by Anthea Gerrie, who is more than worthy of her own column in print, too. Ramsay does run one hell of a kitchen when he's in situ, though permanent jet lag is bound to add fuel to his famous ire and the chefs probably fall apart with huge sighs of relief once he has left the building - even more so when he has left the country. But there's no denying Gorgeous Gordy is a tasty dish himself - I prefer to watch him on TV and just allow him to be a feast for the ears and eyes! Service? Hmmm - yes please...
